The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Trailer Is Here, Introducing Fresh Faces Rosalina & Bowser Jr. Voices

The collaboration between Nintendo and Illumination unveiled the initial complete preview for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie on Wednesday. This occurred during a dedicated Nintendo presentation that highlighted the upcoming animated film.

The sequel to the 2023 hit film The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this latest chapter will transport Mario to the outer limits of the universe. Along the way, he discovers a different royal figure and a challenging new adversary in Bowser Jr., the son of the King of the Koopas.

A Space-Faring Quest Inspired by Beloved Titles

Much like the Wii-era games that provide its foundation, Mario will leave behind the familiar comforts of the Mushroom Kingdom to travel across the galaxy. During his grand adventure, he will reunite with some well-known personalities, such as the Luma, a fan favorite from the original cinematic release.

Yet it looks like Mario and his sibling Luigi will battle a different foe in the form of Bowser's furious offspring, who seemingly commands metallic abilities. Worth mentioning, the trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not solely focused on Galaxy-themed scenes; it also contains hints to other beloved games like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.

Celebrity Voice Actors Come Back and Grow

The film will feature once again of the primary vocal talent, with Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.

New additions to the ensemble for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will voice Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to represent Bowser Jr. It was announced by Chris Meledandri, the chief executive of Illumination.

A Significant Period for Mario

Mario's latest cinematic adventure is set to release close to the four-decade milestone of the initial Super Mario Bros. release. In addition to the movie, 2026 promises to be a major period for Mario and his companions.

Nintendo confirmed a set of three fresh titles already confirmed for the upcoming year, including Mario Tennis Fever, a release on Switch 2 of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a new Yoshi platformer titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.

Release Date Confirmed
